James Jennings

Rev. Jennings was born and raised in Jacksonville and as a young adult enlisted in the Air Force where he served for 20 years.

Towards the end of his Air Force service, James re-experienced his original call to ministry and upon his retirement from active duty, completed his Bachelors Degree and then his Master of Divinity.

He is an ordained Elder in the United Methodist Church and granted retirement after 23 years of service at our Annual Conference meeting in May 2004.

During his tenure as a pastor in Florida, James has served numerous local churches including Mt Zion UMC just up the road, (his first pastoral appointment) and more recently First United Methodist of Sarasota and Asbury United Methodist in Orange Park. James also served as the District Superintendent of the Sarasota and Miami Districts and he served as the Director of the Conference Council on Ministries in Lakeland.
