Our Pastor

Rev. Dr. Joe Jursa, Pastor

Dr. Jursa has been married to his wife Linda for 31 years.  They are the parents of two daughters, Sabrina who is a dental assistant in Boca Raton and Ruth, a Jr. High Science teacher in Orlando.  Dr. Jursa graduated from the Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, FL with a BS degree in Oceanography.  He received his Master of Divinity Degree from Asbury Theological Seminary and his Doctor of Ministry Degree from Columbia Seminary in Atlanta, GA.  His doctoral degree was in the study of discipline in the Christian family.

He has served Shingle Creek UMC in Kissimmee, St Paul UMC in North Miami, Calvary UMC in Orange Park, North UMC in Sarasota and Boca West Community UMC.  Dr. Jursa was involved in the Emmaus Community in its early days of formation here in Jacksonville, and has met some of the St. Paul family through that ministry many years ago.
